It’s no secret how much of a fan of Ralph Lauren I am. I have read almost every biography on the incredible Mr. Lauren, and tell people all the time that I can’t believe we get to be alive while he is. His career, background, family, and what he has single-handedly built is incredibly inspiring to say the absolute least. There are few people in our culture that I truly look up to, that I consider iconic in every sense of the word….Ralph Lauren has always been at the top of the list for me.
Amongst both my personal curation and curation within TMD, I’ve had the pleasure of sourcing some incredible vintage Ralph Lauren pieces through the years. The ethos of Ralph Lauren- which essentially is a commitment to timeless, quality pieces is the same ethos that inspires all of what I source and what I choose to invest in wearing every day. And its true- all of the Ralph Lauren pieces I’ve sourced through the years have truly stood the test of time.
Many of you may not know this, but Ralph Lauren has an in-house team of vintage experts that are meticulously sourcing and curating archival Ralph Lauren runway pieces. This has been somewhat of a quiet project- perhaps you’ve noticed vintage pieces in stores, but really the entire breadth of what this vintage team has been curating haven’t really been accessible to everyone. Until now.
For the first time, Ralph Lauren has released a drop of archival runway pieces online sourced from the mid-late 1990’s to early-mid-2000’s. While you may have noticed vintage pieces throughout the 888 Madison flagship and Beverly Hills stores before, this marks the first time the team is launching the collection online— making these archival pieces readily available no matter where you are. I had the pleasure of meeting with the team and getting a first hand look of what's included in the collection- essentially my dream day. The pieces in this drop pay homage to the recent Hamptons collection…and the collection is simply incredible. The vintage team curates, authenticates, and sources everything themselves- a timely and meticulous process I know first hand. These pieces are also a part of fashion history- they’ve graced covers of magazines, walked runways, and so much more.
I personally love this initiative- I think it speaks to the core ethos of what Ralph Lauren really is and has always been- timeless, quality pieces. As I got a first look, I had a few favorites that stood out (although I am enamored by everything really), so its a pleasure to highlight my picks as well as this exciting initiative! For the first time online, you can shop the full vintage collection online here.
It’s an honor to share this one with all of you.

Spring 2006 Silk Dress
If a bride doesn’t wear this, I will. This dress is literal perfection- walked the runway in 2006 and hasn’t aged a day. This silk beaded dress was a real standout piece to me- its incredibly gorgeous and elegant. Timeless in every sense of the word. I’m not sure how its still available, but I have a feeling it will go quick.

Spring 2007 Beaded Dress

This dress in person was even more breathtaking than in the photo’s. For those in Los Angeles, I tried this dress on at the Beverly Hills location. The clutches (online here and here) were also masterpieces.
