I get asked about my NYC recommendations all the time…which I take as a compliment. Coming from LA, I love embracing the culture of New York whenever I’m in the city…and sharing my findings with all of you.
Enjoy my updated little diary of NYC including what I ate, wore, shopped, and visited.
xx Julia

The cold weather clothing winners:
J Crew cashmere socks - when I tell you these are my HOLY GRAILS. I strongly feel that these cashmere socks are the key in keeping you warm in winter, along with a good beanie to keep you insulated. They are also very high quality for the price ($44 on sale)-immediately ordered more after my week in the city to prep for March in NY.
Intimissimi long sleeve turtleneck- these are warm enough that I only had to wear one heavy coat or jacket over in snow and 20-30 degree weather. I also like that they are a tad sheer. I have about three of this exact style about 4 of the boat neck style that I wear all of winter.
The Limited Velvet Trousers - I got so many questions on these trousers. I discovered these magical pants about two years ago and for some reason, these trousers are the absolute perfect fit. I got the brown and red pair right before I left and switched off wearing the black, brown, and red pair all week. The velvet composition makes them super warm in winter and they’re the perfect trouser to tuck a top into. Found some vintage ones for you here, here, here, and here!
Aritzia Cashmere Beanies- I got a few more during their recent sale and wore one every day. The quality of their beanies is super high and I love how they look. I personally love the Slouchy, and Cashmere rib styles.
Jenni Kayne knit cashmeres. These are the only knits I’m really wearing this winter- The Jackie and The Cooper have become my absolute holy grails.
What I Did:
Levy Gorvy Dayan Gallery- gorgeous space and great exhibition of Warhols on the top floor.
The Django Jazz Club - great for a date or drinks/ dinner with friends
Replaced my watch strap - One of my favorite activities is designing a watch strap at the Cartier Mansion in NY. I happened to have sold the watch strap I custom made when I was in NY in September so I made myself another one.
To be honest the rest of my time was spent working or in meetings! Excited to be back next month with a list of things to do
