A Summer Dispatch
Summer inspiration and more.
Hello! I wanted to keep this one short on the writing side, and share some moodboards and a summer styling that have been inspiring me lately! I find that when summer gets quiet, it’s a great time to just sit and look at your surroundings. So much to come and in the works that I am SO excited about…in the meantime, I am savoring the brief moments of quiet and inspiration leading up.
Here are some things, images, and pieces, that are currently inspiring me.
I hope you enjoy!
Xx Julia
My summer vibe: Cherie FM’s Cherie Au Soleil playlist, 100% cotton, vintage jerseys, headscarfs and braids, zero mascara or foundation, Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mist day and night, journaling in my Memoire notebook (yes its worth it), Rothy’s or flipflops on the feet, reformer pilates, Dippin’ Dots in the park weekly, worn in baseball caps, ladybug pinky ring from Yvonne Leon, gingham Manolo mules, 5 minute manicures with my cuticle trimmer and Celisse oil, light bra’s, Hermes Garden Party or Alex Mill tote for handbags, afternoon weekend naps on the couch.
What’s been providing me joy: Nancy Myers following TMD has been keeping me overjoyed for weeks, streaming Cherie FM’s playlists all day…truly THE BEST vibes, long walks in the park at 7 AM, spotting insects like lightning bugs and ladybugs, upcoming projects, my dog when we cuddle on the couch, my dog playing with his girlfriend Nemo, quietly sourcing, enjoying an empty city.
What’s inspiring me: Matthieu Blazy’s art deco focus at Chanel, tasseled antique embroidered silks, english decor pieces, floral prints, the sunshine, a sense of freedom, quiet, sleeping 8 hours, an account on Instagram that takes antique embroidered french linens and creates lampshades out of them (I recently found my initials and was elated).

Summer Styling:
My style this summer is easy breezy & loosy goosey. I don’t like wearing anything tight in the summer. A lot of vintage Champion jerseys which I have a newfound obsession with. Rare to find but perfect when you do. My first jersey was a Harvard one I found at Stella Dallas in Brooklyn for about $50. Now I get comments from strangers who constantly think I went to Harvard…not bad I must say. I have been living in my Amazon flip flops, Rothy’s, and/or Row heels. No in-between. I just got my man these Rothy’s and he is obsessed…join the club. I sourced a vintage Hermes Garden Party for the next drop and ended up using it so much I decided to keep it. That being said, I am actively working on sourcing more for the drop as I have a feeling I am not the only one who is infatuated. Per usual, I have been sourcing and incorporating a ton of vintage Ralph Lauren into my wardrobe…my favorite recent find was a $10 purple plaid button down that reminded me of one that Ralph himself wears from K Mart. One of my favorite philosophies and interviews to date where Mr. Lauren speaks about his shirt and the ethos behind it. I’ve been slowly starting to source a few vintage Fall pieces which I am very excited about…but more on that later!
