New York is truly one of my favorite places.
Every time I go, I usually have a very long list of stops I want to shop at, eat at, and of course, matchbooks I want to acquire. This trip, I tried prepping a little earlier with a little note of places I wanted to check off (I’ll share it below). Definitely going to replicate the note practice in the future and found it a great way to not feel overwhelmed when going to a new city.
Second thing- as I was trying to put outfits together, I found myself struggling to find chic outfits specifically for the cold. Everyone is so focused on Spring/ Summer dressing (I would be too if I lived somewhere cold), so I thought I would share some of what I wore in 40-50 degree weather for now- especially those who live in colder climates.
My NY Note and how I organized it:
What I wore:
To A Dinner:
For a Shopping Day in the Rain:
For My Birthday:
For a Meeting:
For a Chic Event:
What I acquired:
This trip was truly so busy for me that I didn’t have a ton of time to shop. But I did know I wanted to get a birthday gift so I went to two places: Bergdorfs and The Row… naturally. I tried on some shoes at Bergdorfs and eyed The Row loafers as a potential option as it was the most timeless option I could find. I decided to pop into the actual Row flagship (a must visit) and immediately fell in love with the Margeux (the smallest size). Took me about 5 seconds to realize it was going to be my next purchase. I find it the perfect shape, color, and the perfect intermediary between a small and large bag.
Aside from that, I did pick up a few matches from The Mark, King, The Nines, Don Angie, The Bowery, and Hotel Chelsea- they’re so cute!!!!
Maybe the sign of becoming older is finding sleepwear stores incredibly charming. The last thing I picked up are these striped gingham slippers and I’m obsessed with them.
And Lastly Where I went….
Cartier just opened their newest store in Soho (102 Greene St). For those who are looking to browse, make a purchase, just walk into somewhere that feels welcoming.. this store is it. “The Mansion” as they call it, which is uptown and one of Cartiers flagships can be much harder to get an appointment or even browse in, so I highly recommend visiting their Soho store first. I was there for a good two hours and felt like I had the entire 5 story store to myself. Architecturally its also stunning… highly recommend visiting (cookies, chocolates, and cappuccinos there are also a 10/10).
The end! I hope you found this guide helpful!
Loving these outfits! Would also love to see your airport style ❤️
Suddenly I feel as though I need a pair of red gloves!
